How it works
Important
Keep an untouched copy of important source files. Browser processing depends on available device memory, and you should inspect every downloaded result before deleting the original.
Practical details
The converter normalizes the container and codec into a predictable MP3 or PCM WAV result. It is designed for short and moderate files that fit comfortably in browser memory.
Lucaden writes the source into FFmpeg's temporary in-browser file system, creates the output, then removes both temporary files. The source media is not uploaded to Lucaden.
Questions
Yes. MP3 is lossy, although higher quality presets reduce audible artifacts.
No. Use only files you are authorized to process and that the browser can read.
Open-source foundations
Lucaden documents its standards sources, architectural references, and permissive runtime dependencies while keeping this workspace consistent with the Lucaden interface.
