How it works
Important
Keep an untouched copy of important source files. Browser processing depends on available device memory, and you should inspect every downloaded result before deleting the original.
Practical details
Choose balanced, smaller, or smallest quality. The video is scaled down only when it exceeds the selected maximum width, encoded with H.264, and paired with AAC audio.
Lucaden writes the source into FFmpeg's temporary in-browser file system, creates the output, then removes both temporary files. The source media is not uploaded to Lucaden.
Questions
No. Already efficient or low-quality sources may not shrink and could become slightly larger.
Only when the source width is within the maximum you select.
Open-source foundations
Lucaden documents its standards sources, architectural references, and permissive runtime dependencies while keeping this workspace consistent with the Lucaden interface.
