How it works

Complete the job in three clear steps

  1. Choose a video file with an audio stream from your device.
  2. Set the timing or output options and create an MP3 or WAV file.
  3. Preview and download the result before closing the page.

Important

Check the result before relying on it

Keep an untouched copy of important source files. Browser processing depends on available device memory, and you should inspect every downloaded result before deleting the original.

Practical details

What this Lucaden tool does

Choose compact MP3 for sharing or PCM WAV for an uncompressed editing source. The video stream is discarded and only the decoded audio is written to the output.

Lucaden writes the source into FFmpeg's temporary in-browser file system, creates the output, then removes both temporary files. The source media is not uploaded to Lucaden.

Questions

About this tool

Which output should I choose?

MP3 is smaller; WAV is much larger but avoids another lossy audio encode.

Can a silent video be processed?

No useful output is possible when the file has no decodable audio stream.
