How it works

Complete the job in three clear steps

  1. Choose one PDF containing supported form fields from your device.
  2. Set the page and output options, then create a non-editable flattened form copy.
  3. Inspect the downloaded result before replacing or deleting the original document.

Important

Check the result before relying on it

Keep an untouched copy of important source files. Browser processing depends on available device memory, and you should inspect every downloaded result before deleting the original.

Practical details

What this Lucaden tool does

pdf-lib updates supported field appearances and flattens them into page content. This can improve sharing consistency, but complex XFA forms and unsupported widgets may require a dedicated desktop PDF application.

The document stays in browser memory during processing. Lucaden creates a new output file and never modifies the source on your device.

Questions

About this tool

Does flattening secure the PDF?

No. It makes supported fields non-interactive but does not encrypt, redact, or prevent other editing.

Are XFA forms supported?

No. Browser pdf-lib workflows do not fully support XFA-based forms.
