How it works

Complete the job in three clear steps

  1. Add a compact JWT string to the private browser workspace.
  2. Choose the available settings and create formatted header, payload, and expiry details.
  3. Review the result, then copy or download it before leaving the page.

Important

Check the result before relying on it

Review generated output before using it in production. Formatters and converters can validate structure, but they cannot understand every application-specific rule or guarantee that transformed content has the intended meaning.

Practical details

What this Lucaden tool does

This debugger decodes the first two Base64URL segments and interprets common issued-at, not-before, and expiry timestamps. Decoding is not signature verification, so the page never labels a token trusted or authentic.

Lucaden performs this task in the browser so the source stays under your control. The result is created only after you request it, and nothing is saved to a Lucaden account by this tool.

Included capabilities

  • Base64URL decoding
  • Formatted header and claims
  • Expiry and not-before interpretation
  • No automatic network requests

Useful for

  • Debug authentication flows
  • Inspect API access-token claims
  • Check expiry timing
  • Review token shape without sharing it

Questions

About this tool

Does decoding prove a JWT is valid?

No. Anyone can construct a header and payload. A receiving application must verify the signature, issuer, audience, and relevant claims.

Should I paste a production token?

Avoid exposing live credentials unnecessarily. Although this tool is local, revoke any token you accidentally share elsewhere.

Open-source foundations

Built transparently

Lucaden documents its standards sources, architectural references, and permissive runtime dependencies while keeping this workspace consistent with the Lucaden interface.
