How it works

Complete the job in three clear steps

  1. Choose a scanned PDF.
  2. Set the available options and create a searchable PDF.
  3. Review the result before downloading or relying on it.

Important

Check the result before relying on it

Keep an untouched copy of important source files. Browser processing depends on available device memory, and you should inspect every downloaded result before deleting the original.

Practical details

What this Lucaden tool does

PDF.js renders each selected page, Tesseract.js recognizes word positions, and pdf-lib writes an invisible text layer over the unchanged page image. OCR is approximate and must be reviewed.

The original remains unchanged; Lucaden creates a separate result in browser memory.

  • Confidence and word report

Questions

About this tool

Does OCR change the visible scan?

No. Lucaden keeps the original page appearance and adds transparent selectable text.

Is recognized text guaranteed accurate?

No. Review names, numbers, tables, handwriting, and low-quality scans carefully.
