How it works

Complete the job in three clear steps

  1. Add an original and a revised text version to the private browser workspace.
  2. Choose the available settings and create a color-coded difference report.
  3. Review the result, then copy or download it before leaving the page.

Important

Check the result before relying on it

Review generated output before using it in production. Formatters and converters can validate structure, but they cannot understand every application-specific rule or guarantee that transformed content has the intended meaning.

Practical details

What this Lucaden tool does

jsdiff creates a standard unified patch and diff2html renders a readable line-by-line report. DOMPurify sanitizes the generated report before it enters the page, and input limits protect the browser from pathological comparisons.

Lucaden performs this task in the browser so the source stays under your control. The result is created only after you request it, and nothing is saved to a Lucaden account by this tool.

Included capabilities

  • Line-by-line visual comparison
  • Added and removed line counts
  • Sanitized HTML report
  • Copyable unified patch

Useful for

  • Review document revisions
  • Compare configuration files
  • Inspect generated code changes
  • Find edits between copied drafts

Questions

About this tool

Does this compare files?

Paste the content of each file into the two panels. Direct file loading will be added in a later document-tool wave.

Is the comparison case-sensitive?

Yes. Changes in capitalization and whitespace are treated as real differences.

Open-source foundations

Built transparently

Lucaden documents its standards sources, architectural references, and permissive runtime dependencies while keeping this workspace consistent with the Lucaden interface.
