How it works
Complete the job in three clear steps
- Choose an audio file and trim times from your device.
- Set the timing or output options and create a trimmed MP3.
- Preview and download the result before closing the page.
Private Lucaden media tool
Cut an audio file to a selected start time and duration and export it as MP3.

How it works
Important
Keep an untouched copy of important source files. Browser processing depends on available device memory, and you should inspect every downloaded result before deleting the original.
Practical details
FFmpeg seeks to the chosen start, keeps only the requested duration, and encodes a fresh MP3 result. This is useful for excerpts, samples, alerts, and removing silence.
Lucaden writes the source into FFmpeg's temporary in-browser file system, creates the output, then removes both temporary files. The source media is not uploaded to Lucaden.
Questions
Use duration equal to end time minus start time.
Do not assume source tags or artwork will be copied to the new file.
Open-source foundations
Lucaden documents its standards sources, architectural references, and permissive runtime dependencies while keeping this workspace consistent with the Lucaden interface.
