Blur Faces Online

Find and anonymize front-facing faces locally with strong Gaussian blur or block pixelation, then download a separate PNG.

Free to use Your photo stays in this browser. The official versioned model is downloaded and hash-verified, while all face detection and pixel changes happen locally on this device.

How it works

Complete the job in three clear steps

  1. Choose a JPG, PNG, WebP, or BMP photo.
  2. Set the available options and create a face-obscured PNG.
  3. Review and download or copy the result before leaving the page.

Important

Check the result before relying on it

Keep an untouched copy of important source files. Browser processing depends on available device memory, and you should inspect every downloaded result before deleting the original.

Practical details

What this Lucaden tool does

MediaPipe BlazeFace proposes face regions, then browser canvas pixelation or OpenCV.js Gaussian blur obscures those pixels on-device. Pixelation is the stronger default, but automated detection is never treated as a complete privacy guarantee.

The original stays unchanged; Lucaden creates a separate result in browser memory.

Included capabilities

  • Automatic face-region detection
  • Block pixelation or Gaussian blur
  • Adjustable padding and strength
  • Local PNG export

Useful for

  • Anonymize event photos
  • Hide bystander faces
  • Prepare evidence screenshots
  • Reduce identity exposure

Questions

About this tool

Does this guarantee anonymity?

No. Detection can miss faces and visual clues may remain. Inspect every person at full size and use a solid manual redaction workflow for high-risk material.

Which mode is safer?

Large block pixelation usually removes more facial detail than ordinary blur, but neither replaces a deliberate privacy and disclosure review.
